Super Birthday

My Favorite Things has started a Wednesday stamp club, a fun challenge to get us all creating. Kim started with this challenge HERE. It is my nephew's birthday next week so I figured I would get a jump start. He loves superhero's, especially Batman, so I used the super hero from Ben Paper dolls and then drew a N on his belt for Nait. There is also a strip on the inside of the card that I taped down on the 3 sides to hold a gift card.

Ben's superhero costume was stamped with Brilliance Graphite black ink, I then masked it off and stamped Ben with the same ink, and then colored him in with copic markers.

The only thing that would make this better was if I could hand deliver it, but that isn't possible so I hope he enjoys his birthday!!

Stamps: Ben Paper Dolls (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Basic Grey, PTI white, SU Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics
Accessories: Sewing machine, MFT Baby brads

My favorite Meatloaf

We spent 2 summers living in Alaska while the MR worked, they were my favorite 2 summers to date. We have big plans of spending our retired years up there. While we were there I acquired a few recipes that have become family favorites. One of my best friends mother in law lived there and she was the best cook, this recipe came from them and I tweaked just one thing in it. It is our favorite meatloaf recipe and we eat it all the time.

Meatloaf

1 lb hamburger
1 lb sausage (you could use another 1lb burger instead but I love the flavor of the sausage)
3 eggs, beaten
1/3 C Sweet relish
1/3 C evaporated milk
1 TBL minced onion
1 C Cheese, cubed
1 C oatmeal

Mix together and place in a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 70 min.

Sauce:

1/2 C ketchup
8 oz tomato sauce
2 tbl brown sugar
2 tbl sweet relish
2 tbl white vinegar
2 tbl minced onion
2 tbl water
1 tbl Worcester sauce

Mix and bring to a boil. Serve over meatloaf.

Bella Birthday Hop

Welcome to the Stamping Bella 3rd Birthday Bash, if you did not arrive here from Arlene's blog then you will want to hop back over to Blogabella and start from the beginning. Remember to leave comments on all the blogs, there are 3 $100 gift certificates hidden along the way but no one knows where.

I have a very special place in my stamping heart for Stamping Bella, not only do I get to help host all the fun in the SCS Bella forum but it is the company that branched me out in the stamping world. They were my first stamp company other than SU and without them I would not be the stamper that I am today. They will always be my #1 Stamp company!! I love the sistahood and all the fun that comes with it, Congratulations Em and Ryan on 3 great years in business!! I can't wait to see what the next 3 years bring.

I stamped you're my number one-ABELLA with Brilliance Graphite Black ink and colored her in with my copic markers.

It is now time for you to continue along to your next stop, HOP on over to Mary's blog to see what goodies she has for you.

My Favorite Things Guest Designer Challenge

I am glad that my stamping time is returning and just in time for the December My Favorite Things Guest Designer contest (that is a mouth full :) ). Kathy and Bar challenged everyone to use Kraft on their projects, I wanted to play with my new cricut and it had this cute bag on the cartridge so I started there and then made a card to match.

I used the MFT set Baby It's Cold Outside, the snow flakes from the set are stamped on the Kraft paper in white ink. The image is stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black and then colored with my copics, I also used Angel Wingz shimmerz on the snow and snowman. I also used Baby's Breath Spritz on the Chipboard snowflake.

The bag is cut with my Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and then stamped with the same snowflakes as the card. I covered the Bazzill Chips with paper from Stampin UP (it is now retired :( ), sprayed them with Baby's Breath Spritz and then put the build a brad in the middle.

I put a travel set of Satin Hands from Mary Kay in the bag, I think this will make a great gift for Bug's teacher.

Have you started on teacher gifts yet?

Bella Sketch Challenge #82

I am SOOOO late in posting this, the sad thing is that it has been sitting on my counter for over a week waiting to be posted. SHEESH!! But I was in such a hurry to get my craft room packed up and the house cleaned for our family that it never got done. So here it is for all of you, it is super simple but I LOVE it!!

Here is a close up I stamped Minty Coffee with Brilliance Black ink and then colored with my copics.

My challenge has closed and I will be picking a winner as soon as this posts but stop by the Stamping Bella forum on SCS and check out Lori's fun challenge (HERE), and don't forget all the Bella Bash info HERE.

Menu Plan Monday

So for the month of November my cousin challenged herself to not eat out at all, I tried to do it with her but I failed miserably. I have decided to do it for the month of December, that means lots of planning on my part. We will see how it goes, I took the kids to McDonald's today for their farewell to eating out.

Monday: Leftover Turkey noodle soup

Tuesday: Enchiladas

Wednesday: Ham and Funeral Potatoes

Thursday: Breakfast Casserole

Friday: Homemade Pizza

Saturday: Burgers

Sunday: Roast and Potatoes

We are going simple this week, I am trying to conserve the budget after Thanksgiving. I think with trying to eat at home I will start to be more creative at dinner time. Hoping this will save us some money and I can loose those few extra pounds I have packed on lately!!
